These guys are great! Not only do I love the location, as it's so close to my home, but they are honest and quick. I never feel they are telling me to fix something that does not need fixed. In fact I come in wondering about things and they say it's fine. Highly Recommend!
Granted, I could change my own pads and/or do my own oil changes to save money, but I actually don't feel like I'm being overcharged when I take my cars here. I'll gladly pay someone to take care of these hassles for me, especially when they do it for a fair price. A+
Around a year ago, I had slow leak in a tire. I was looking for a place very close to home (I didn't want to drive far with a slow leak) so I took it here and they fixed it for very little money. I was pretty impressed. I then decided to start using them for oil changes, and finally all my car maintenance. I won't say where I was going before, but the difference in service and price is night and day.
Just today, I had my rear brake pads replaced in one of my cars. They actually charged me less than the estimate. This has never happened to me at any other shop. I always would be charged the estimate, or even a little over.
I once asked a retired auto mechanic if he could refer me to a good mechanic in town, or tell me the best way to go about finding one. He answered, "Good luck." How encouraging. Finding a good auto mechanic is no fun, at least in my experience. Having been to several, I think I have a pretty good sense of the ones who are affordable but don't seem to fix the problem, and the ones who can fix the problem but will charge you a small fortune. It took a little shopping around but I found a place that I trust and will never go anywhere else. I'll spare you the story, but I'll just tell you that a recent experience proved to me that Scott (the owner?) values the integrity and customer service of his business above all else. He went way above and beyond making everything right... and get this, he wasn't even in the wrong, I WAS!!
We brought our 2008 Ford F-350 in for a tire rotate and balance. We took our lunch early at 11:00 to bring it in. When we left we got 1/2 mile away and the weight fell off. We turned around, picked the weight up out of the road and took it back. When we got there, they told us we had to come back at 1:00 because all the techs were out to lunch. I said "no, I already took my lunch early to bring it in, you need to call him back here to fix his mistake." He proceeded to tell me he could not do that. At that point another man came from the back and told me they would refund our money because they should not have done any work on a truck with our size tires on it anyway. I said "you mean to tell,me you worked on a truck you were not equipped to work on, AND screwed it up?" He said " well I would not have done it." At that point I walked out and they gave my husband a refund!! BAD BUSINESS
Outstanding service, fair prices, friendly people. Solid. I hope this helps.
We were traveling through Iowa and had a hole in our tire... Making us stop every 45 miles for a tire fill up. By the time we got to Altoona we knew we needed a repair... The people at Freedom Tire were SO FRIENDLY and got us right in, which was a huge relief since we still had 5 hours ahead of us. The price was reasonable, and we were impressed with their level of customer service. Even small touches like having an inviting atmosphere: a nice mix of magazines, comfortable seating, and clean restrooms in the waiting area. I highly recommend.
